板ガラスに陶芸用釉薬で絵付けを施し、焼成、研磨し、作品を制作。ガラスに雪や落ち葉など朽ちていくものを”留める”留めることをテーマとし、器をモチーフとした制作を行っている保木さん。ガラスは人類が生み出した素材です。その人工的な素材を用いて、器という想いの形に自然を表現することで、人であるから生まれる矛盾の想いを、留まらないと知りながら留めたいと願う矛盾の想いを表現していくことができるのではないかと保木氏は考えます。そんな思いの作品を今回ぜひご高覧ください。
The work is created by painting plate glass with pottery glaze, firing and polishing. Ms. Hoki work is based on the theme of "holding" things that decay, such as snow and fallen leaves, on glass, and uses a vessel as a motif. Glass is a material created by humans. By using these artificial materials to express nature in the form of a vessel, we express the contradictory feelings that arise from being human, and the contradictory feelings that we wish to hold on to, even though we know they will not stay.
